SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Do you know someone making a difference by resolving conflict, building stronger relationships or bringing people together?

The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Peacebuilder Awards, recognizing individuals who inspire peace and positive change throughout Chatham County.

The awards will be presented during the fifth annual Peace in the Park celebration on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Daffin Park.

Anyone making a positive impact in Chatham County is eligible to be nominated. Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Sept. 7, at midnight.

“From teens who mediate conflict between peers to first responders and faith leaders who build bridges between neighbors, peacebuilders live and work among us every day, but often receive little recognition for their tremendous contributions to our community,” said Dr. Aimee Bellmore, executive director of The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire.

The organization is accepting nominations in seven categories:

• Emerging Youth Peacebuilder (ages 11-14)
• Youth Peacebuilder (ages 15-18)
• Community Peacebuilder
• Elected Official Peacebuilder
• Faith Leader Peacebuilder
• First Responder Peacebuilder
• Legend Peacebuilder

Peace in the Park is free and open to the public and will feature a Peace Walk, a human peace sign, Courageous Conversations, a community resource fair, youth art activities, food trucks and live entertainment.
