Islanders Beach Park to close for major renovations starting September

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - A popular Hilton Head Island beach park will be closing in early September for major renovations.
Islanders Beach Park will close to the public from Sept. 8, 2026, through May 31, 2027, as the town moves into a new phase of improvements.
Beachgoers are encouraged to recreate at the nearby Folly Field Beach Park, Driessen Beach Park and Burke’s Beach during the closure.
Improvements include a new custom playground, more parking, safer pathways, upgraded lighting, and new picnic areas and bike racks.

Islanders Beach Park is expected to reopen June 1, 2027.
