Housing Authority of Savannah to open senior housing waiting list in August

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Housing Authority of Savannah is preparing to open the waiting list for Veranda at Midtown Apartments, an affordable senior housing community for adults ages 62 and older.
Applications for the Project-Based Voucher (PBV) waiting list will be accepted online only from 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, through 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14.
Housing officials say all eligible applications submitted during the application period will be entered into a random lottery to determine placement on the waiting list. Placement is not based on the date or time an application is submitted.
Applicants must be at least 62 years old and meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) income limits and other program eligibility requirements. Detailed eligibility information and application instructions will be available during the application period on the Housing Authority of Savannah’s website.
The Housing Authority of Savannah encourages eligible seniors and their families to review the application requirements in advance of the waiting list opening to help ensure they are prepared to apply.
