Hampton County fire chief placed on administrative leave with pay

HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - Hampton County confirmed fire chief Chris Parker was placed on administrative leave with pay on Friday, May 22.

County officials said Hampton County Director of Public Safety, John Lawson, will serve as Interim Fire Chief.
“As is standard procedure, Hampton County is not able to comment further on personnel matters,” shared Hampton County Administration in a statement to WTOC.
Earlier this month, community members and firefighters raised concerns about Hampton County Fire Department leadership during a specially called county council meeting.
