Greg Dolezal addresses data centers, property taxes during Savannah campaign stop

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Republican candidate for lieutenant governor Greg Dolezal visited Savannah on Monday, speaking with WTOC at Hotel Bardo about key economic and community issues facing Coastal Georgia.

Among the top local concerns discussed was the expansion of large-scale data centers, an issue that has drawn scrutiny from residents in neighboring Effingham County. Dolezal said working families should not be footing the bill for corporate developments and criticized the secrecy often surrounding economic incentive packages.

“I don’t think that working families should be having to subsidize large, trillion-dollar corporations doing business here in the state,” Dolezal said. “I’m not a fan — I don’t believe in non-disclosure agreements between government and private entities. I believe that taxpayers need to have access to see what we as a government are committing to.”

The state senator also addressed broader issues of affordability and election integrity. Dolezal pointed to property tax reduction as a top legislative priority to help ease financial pressures on homeowners across Georgia.

Additionally, Dolezal expressed confidence in recent state legislative measures designed to ensure Georgia elections remain fair and secure ahead of the upcoming election.
