Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce celebrates small business grant recipients

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce spotlighted local entrepreneurs who are keeping the business community going.
Tuesday night, the GSBCC and the Georgia Coalition of Black Chambers, held a reception for small businesses that completed the Small Business Revitalization Grant Program.
A total of 11 small businesses completed the program, and they received grant funding to support their growth.
Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Moncello Stewart says the funds help these businesses recover from the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Some businesses were barely survive during that time,” said Stewart. “Some businesses had to take out loans. Some people listed their house just to stay on the ground. So, to get some of that money to pay some things back, to be able to get on point so your business can survive--that’s what we are doing.”
The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce is committed to empowering and educating Black, minority and women entrepreneurs in Savannah and the surrounding communities to foster a thriving and sustainable business environment.
