BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Drivers on Interstate 95 should prepare for overnight delays and detours next week as contractors begin resurfacing work on several key ramps in Bryan and Chatham counties.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the temporary ramp closures are part of an ongoing I-95 resurfacing project extending from south of Exit 87 in Bryan County to just south of the Interstate 16 interchange in Chatham County.

Crews will close one ramp at a time to resurface both the ramps and the adjacent gore areas. The work is scheduled to take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting Tuesday, September 8.

Transportation officials said the nightly closures will continue until the ramp resurfacing is complete. All scheduled work is weather-contingent.
