Free workshop to help Beaufort County families protect inherited land

ST. HELENA ISLAND, Sc. (WTOC) - The Lowcountry Gullah Foundation will host a free workshop to help families understand heirs’ property and protect land passed down through generations.
The workshop will explain how heirs’ property is transferred, the risks families face without a legal plan and the steps they can take to secure their property.

Participants will also learn about tools for clearing property titles, avoiding family disputes and accessing community resources and support.
The event will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at 6356 Jonathan Francis Sr. Road on St. Helena Island.
The workshop is free and open to families seeking guidance about protecting their land and building a lasting legacy.
