Free shuttle service launches in Bluffton as Old Town construction begins

BLUFFTON, Sc. (WTOC) - The Town of Bluffton is launching a free transportation service to help residents and visitors access the Old Town Historic Bluffton District during upcoming construction projects.
The service begins Thursday, June 18, and will run as a 12-week pilot program. It will operate Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at no cost to riders.
Town officials say the shuttle is meant to help reduce parking challenges as infrastructure improvements impact street and parking availability in Old Town.

The shuttle will run on a continuous loop with stops at Wright Family Park, the corner of Mellichamp Drive and Bluffton Road, M.C. Riley Sports Complex and Oyster Factory Park.
Riders can hop on or off along the route, but the shuttle will not make off-route stops.
After the pilot program ends, the town will review ridership and community feedback to decide whether the service should continue.
