Forsyth Park tennis courts renovation complete in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Renovations to the community tennis courts at historic Forsyth Park are now complete, announced the City of Savannah on Friday.

The project was part of the city’s Recreation Reimagined Initiative and was funded through the fiscal year 2026 Capital Improvement Program.

Crews replaced deteriorated courts, fencing and site amenities, and installed new asphalt pavement and sport-specific surfacing, said the city. The upgrades are meant to improve safety, playability and overall user experience. The city said improvements will also deliver a durable, long-term solution for residents and visitors who rely on the facility.

Construction timeline

City officials scheduled construction during the summer months, beginning in June with completion on Sept. 25.

The construction contract was given to Edwards Construction Group, a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, in an amount not to exceed $363,081.

Court hours, reservations

The tennis courts are open from dawn to 9 p.m., with lighted hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
