Former Olympia Cafe opens new restaurant on River Street

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - When Olympia Café closed in mid-May, it was a staple restaurant in downtown Savannah. Friday night, the family-owned Greek restaurant returned with a new name and new look.
Limani is now open at 417 East River Street. The new location includes a second floor, balcony, bar, and larger kitchen.
Owners say the new location has almost the same Greek menu as Olympia Cafe. Owners and staff say they want to make sure the restaurant has the same feel as the original Olympia Cafe.
“Same amazing flavor, same everything,” said Limani Head Chef Blake Mabry. “Just a few little tweaks that I think returning customers will take and enjoy.”
Friday’s official opening included a ticketed three-course meal with proceeds benefitting Second Harvest Coastal Georgia.
