Former Lowcountry teacher charged with criminal solicitation of a minor

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - A former Lowcountry teacher was arrested and charged with felony crimes involving a minor.

On May 22, 2026, 47-year-old Kalen Wolfe was arrested and charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and dissemination; procuring or promoting obscenity unlawful. Law enforcement said Wolfe turned herself in.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said they first took a report on March 27 after a complainant contacted them to file a report.

Law enforcement said ongoing investigation led up to warrants being obtained on May 1 for Wolfe, she was arrested May 22 after turning herself in.

We reached out to Hilton Head Preparatory School, who confirmed Wolfe was previously employed at Sea Pines Montessori. School officials said she was not renewed in July 2021 and said that was the last time she had affiliation with Sea Pines Montessori.

Hilton Head Preparatory School said they merged with Sea Pines Montessori last year, but clarified Wolfe has no affiliation with Hilton Head Preparatory School and has never had any.

We also reached out to the Beaufort County School District who said Wolfe was a part-time substitute teacher from 2008 until 2016. According to the school district, she was inactivated in 2016.
