BEAUFORT, Sc. (WTOC) - The Beaufort Police Department is inviting families to a free community movie afternoon later this month as part of its efforts to strengthen relationships with residents and provide family-friendly summer activities.

The event will take place Wednesday, June 24, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Charles Lind Brown Center, located at 1001 Hamar St. in Beaufort.

Hosted in partnership with Beaufort County Parks and Recreation, the event will feature a screening of the family-favorite baseball movie The Sandlot.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring a blanket and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks that will be available outside the center.

The movie afternoon is designed to give community members an opportunity to meet and interact with Beaufort Police officers in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The event is free and open to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
