Dave Turley’s First Alert Weather forecast for Sunday, October 4, 2026

A cold front will slowly push south of the area Monday and stall over central Florida all week. Plenty of moisture will bring high rain chances tonight into Monday afternoon. An additional 2-4″ of rain is possible. A Flood Watch is in effect for all counties south of the Altamaha River until Monday at 8am. Most computer models begin to dry our from north to south. The question is how far south does the rain go. Right now we’ll keep a higher rain chance south of I16 Monday night and Tuesday. Low pressure is forecast to develop along the front off the Florida coast Tuesday into Wednesday. This will bring coastal concerns with high surf, seas, rip currents and beach erosion. We keep it mostly cloudy but drier Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances begin to increase again Friday. Tropical Gulf moisture will move over the area this weekend as we watch possible tropical development in the Gulf. Our forecast will depend on exactly how this plays out so stay tuned for updates.
