High pressure will be the dominant weather feature into next week. Any rain chance ends before midnight with daybreak temps in the mid 70s. Temps and humidity heat up with highs in the mid to upper 90s Sunday. Heat index values up to 110. We’ll see lots of sun with a better rain chance after 8pm. We have a slightly better chance for scattered showers and storms Monday as temps remain in the mid 90s. Heat index values up to 110. Slightly lower rain chances Tuesday with highs in the low 90s. Dry and seasonably hot Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low to mid 90s. Temps heat up again into the mid 90s Friday and Saturday with a 10% chance for showers and storms.

Tropical Outlook: Low pressure is forecast to move off the North Carolina coast early Monday. The low will be along a frontal boundary. There is a 20% chance for tropical development as the system slowly drifts westward by the middle and end of next week.
