Low pressure continues to strengthen off the mid Atlantic coast. The low will slowly pull away from the area this weekend. North winds will give us high surf, elevated tides and rip current risk. It will also help usher in cooler air from the north. Tonight will be clear with the coolest air of the season. Most will see lows in the low to mid 50s but there could be a few upper 40s well inland. The weekend looks great with highs in the low 80s to mid 80s and lots of sun. Morning low temps will fall into the mid 50s Sunday morning. Skies remain mostly sunny Monday through Wednesday with increasing temps and humidity. We’ll see a slight rain chance Thursday and Friday with temps in the mid 80s and lows in the low 70s.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, highs in the low 80s.

Saturday night will be mostly clear, lows in the mid to upper 50s.

Sunday will be partly cloudy, highs in the mid 80s.

Coastal Waters Forecast: SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY in effect until 8pm this evening. Tonight: N winds at 10-15 kt with gusts to 20 kt. Seas: 3-5 ft subsiding to 2-4 ft. Saturday: N winds at 10-15 kt. Seas: 2-4 ft.

Tropical Outlook: Tropical Storm Fay is back and is located well west-southwest of the Azores. Fay is forecast to move west and become post-tropical this weekend before dissipating early next week. Fay is no threat to any land. Tropical Storm Gonzalo is located about 160 miles east of the Cabo Verde Islands. Gonzalo will move generally northwest to northward and become post-tropical Sunday.
