City of Savannah, partners to provide spaces to stay cool this weekend

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah is making facilities available to help residents stay cool this weekend during hot temperatures.

All city community centers, pools, and splashpads are open as follows:

Cooling Centers: Open Sat. Noon – 5:00pm | Sun. Noon – 6:00pm

  • Eastside Center – 599 Goebel Avenue
  • Grant Center Gym – 1310 Richards Street (Saturday Only)
  • Tompkins Center – 2333 Ogeechee Road

Splash Pads: Open 9:00am – 8:00pm

  • Avondale Park – 2117 Alabama Avenue
  • Ben Van Clark Park – 1202 E. Park Avenue
  • Crusader Community Center – 81 Coffee Bluff Villa Road
  • Forest Hills Park – 4901 Skidaway Road
  • Hull Park – 55th Atlantic Avenue
  • Hudson Hill Community Center – 202 W. Lathrop Avenue
  • Tatemville Community Center – 333 Coleman Street
  • Tompkins Community Center – 2333 Ogeechee Road
  • Victory Heights Park – E. 41st Street

Pools: Free/Open to Public Sat. 1:00pm – 5:00pm | Sun. 1:00pm - 6:00pm

  • Bowles Ford – 1900 Stiles Avenue (Saturday Only)
  • Brock – 1804 Stratford Street
  • Daffin – 1301 E. Victory Drive
  • Haven – 511 Dillon Avenue
  • Tompkins Center – 2333 Ogeechee Road
  • W.W. Law – 900 E. Bolton (Saturday Only)

Partner Facilities: Saturday Only

  • Union Mission Resource Center (702 Oglethorpe Ave.) 8:30am – 4:00pm  
  • The Salvation Army (3100 Montgomery St.) 9:00am – 5:00pm 
  • Come As You Are Deliverance Center (1901 Pennsylvania Ave.)  9:00am – 4:00pm 
  • Homeless Authority will be available for transport - 912-803-2994
