City of Pooler receives $1.9M stormwater grant
POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Pooler was awarded more than $1.9 million in federal grant funding to help develop a comprehensive Storm Water Master Plan.
The funding was provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
According to city officials, the master plan will build upon Pooler’s ongoing drainage infrastructure improvements by establishing a full stormwater model and extensive data analysis. This framework will be utilized to manage stormwater runoff and guide strategic drainage improvements throughout the city.
The project has a total approved cost of $2,594,390.
To fund the remainder of the project:
- The State of Georgia will contribute a share of $259,439.
- The City of Pooler will provide a local contribution of $389,158.50.
The total cost also includes full funding for management and administrative costs associated with the development of the plan.
