Chatham County grand jury indicts man accused of impersonating officer

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A Chatham County grand jury has indicted Jamel Kearney on charges including aggravated sodomy and impersonating a police officer.
According to a police report, a woman told officers Kearney showed her a fake badge at a Pooler gas station in April and accused her of driving under the influence. She told police he threatened to arrest her and forced her to perform sexual acts.
Officers administered a breath test, which showed the woman was not impaired, the report said. Surveillance video confirmed her account, according to police.
Kearney is accused of the crimes; an indictment is not a finding of guilt.
