CCPD on scene of deadly shooting along Ogeechee Road
CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Chatham County Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting incident just off Ogeechee Road.
Around 8:00 Tuesday night, law enforcement responded to a domestic incident at the Fords Pointe Apartments and Townhomes.
One resident said they heard a single shot fired. Others mentioned it was a couple living in the apartment where law enforcement were investigating.
CCPD Chief Jeff Hadley says when officers arrived on scene they found a woman dead from what appears to be a gunshot wound.
Chief Hadley says one person is in custody, and this incident remains under investigation.
One resident of the complex expresses concern, noting that this isn’t the first time an incident like this has occurred.
“Several things have happen in the past that are kind of concerning,” Larry Walker said. “It’s kind of scary that I don’t know exactly what is going on. Having some kind of information would make me feel more comfortable.”
