Calling all young singers: Savannah Children’s Choir opens registration

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Registration is now open for the Savannah Children’s Choir’s 2026-27 season.

The program welcomes children ages 4 to 16 and provides instruction in vocal technique, music reading and ensemble performance.

Singers explore several American musical traditions, including Gullah music, Appalachian folk music and jazz.

“Music teaches focus, listening, and teamwork, and those lessons stay with our singers long after they leave rehearsal,” Executive and Artistic Director John Tisbert said.

Tisbert has more than 40 years of experience guiding young musicians, including performances at Carnegie Hall.

The choir aims to help children develop their musical abilities while building confidence and connecting with other young singers.
