Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry launches fundraiser featuring artwork by club member

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry is launching a new fundraiser featuring a T-shirt design created by one of its own members.
Club leaders selected the winning design from approximately 1,400 entries submitted by kids across Lowcountry clubs. The chosen artwork was created by club member Canaan Hagood, whose piece reflects what the club means to her and the impact it has on local kids.
Shirts produced by nonprofit vendor
The shirts are being printed by Pockets Full of Sunshine, an organization where disabled adults create merchandise.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Lowcountry president and CEO said the vendor selection was intentional.
“We actually chose Pockets Full of Sunshine for our vendor for our t-shirts. What a great opportunity though, to support two non-profits in one task,” Mandy Parsons the president and CEO said.
How donations will be used
Proceeds will help fund supplies and resources for clubs across all four counties. The drive will also give kids an opportunity to build entrepreneurship skills by helping promote the fundraiser.
Shirts are expected to be available later this week.
