Body found near dumpster behind Chuck E. Cheese in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near a local business.
At 10:17 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to 1409 Marks Church Road to investigate the discovery of a body.
Deputies say a body was found behind Chuck E. Cheese, 3435 Wrightsboro Road.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office and sheriff’s office investigators responded.
Coroner Mark Bowen said the body was found in a wooded area behind the business in what appeared to be a homeless camp.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
The name of the deceased person will be released once a positive identification has been made and the next of kin notified.
