Body found in Savannah River, police investigating

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A body was recovered from the Savannah River on Monday morning, according to the Savannah Police Department.
The person was found in the water near 1 International Drive at around 11:12 a.m. Both the Savannah Police and Fire departments assisted in the recovery.
SPD said they are currently investigating the situation.
WTOC reached out to Tybee Island Mayor Brian West who said the body is not the man who went missing Saturday morning. Recovery efforts for the missing man on Tybee continue into Monday afternoon.
