Beaufort Water Festival hosts the 2026 bed races

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort Water Festival is hosting its bed races Friday as part of the festival’s 70th anniversary celebration.
The Beaufort Police Department won the event last year and is among the competitors looking to repeat in this year’s race.
13 total beds raced down Bay Street on Friday, and after it was all said and done, the Beaufort Police Department took home the title again.
WTOC caught up with the winning team following the race.

The Festival continues Saturday with the parade, but the air show is cancelled due to weather. The U.S. Coast Guard will still perform its search and rescue demo at 2:00pm. Families are invited to still come out and see a shorter show.
The Blessing of the Fleet is Sunday.
