Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office seeks 2 suspects in Bluffton crime spree

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating two suspects wanted in connection with a series of crimes in Bluffton.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Vernon Tramayne Pope Jr., 18, of Pineland, South Carolina, and Arthur Lee Edwards Jr., 19, also of Pineland.
Charges
Both suspects face the following charges:
- Burglary, 1st degree
- Grand larceny of a motor vehicle
- Criminal conspiracy
- Five counts of breaking into a motor vehicle
- Three counts of petit larceny
What happened
Between June 23 and June 24, deputies responded to numerous reports from residents in The Estate at Westbury in Bluffton. The reports involved suspicious activity, vandalism, vehicle break-ins, and a stolen vehicle.
Through the investigation, Pope and Edwards were identified as suspects, and arrest warrants were obtained.
