WTOC Top Teacher: Cameron Walker

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - This week’s top teacher encompasses the world of numbers and math.

Meet Cameron Walker from Andrea B. Williams Elementary School.

“So I want them to be able to succeed, I want them to be able to do the things they want to do but also, know how to stand on their own and be independent,” said Walker.

Walker says he feels teaching is his calling.

“I love coming back here, I love coming back to my kids, every week is a new week to learn new skills, try new things, different activities, and I love doing those things I spent my weekend planning to do with my kids, and then coming here and actually do it,” said Walker.

Walker wants his students to know that they are loved and he is there to help them succeed.

“It’s really a good feeling. It makes me feel like I am actually serving my purpose, makes me feel like, I am actually helping not only my kids but their families and our community, because they are actually thriving and succeeding. So it’s always a good feeling, even if it’s just one grade at a time, it’s always a good feeling when they succeed,” said Walker.
