WTOC Exclusive: Wife of Savannah teacher killed in crash shares her legacy

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The wife of a Savannah special education teacher killed in a car crash last Monday is opening up in an exclusive interview with WTOC.

“Linda meant the world to me. She was my sun, my moon, and my stars,” Consweulo said.

Consweulo Davis sat down with WTOC to share more about the life and legacy of her wife, Dr. Linda Davis. Consweulo said the family is still processing the loss.

“We’re grieving, this loss was sudden, so we are all still trying to wrap our minds around it,” Consweulo said.

‘Her smile was infectious’

Dr. Linda Davis was a special education teacher at Hesse K-8 School in Savannah. She also had five children of her own. Consweulo said Linda spoke with each of her children every day and often invited them over to sing and dance.

“Linda loved to dance, when she wasn’t working when she wasn’t worshiping, she loved to dance, enjoy life enjoy her kids, she would call the kids over so they could sing and dance,” Consweulo said.

Linda was known for her smile, which Consweulo said had an effect on everyone around her.

“She greeted everyday, every person with a smile. Her smile was infectious, so when she smiled I smiled, everybody smiled,” Consweulo said.

Linda and Consweulo were friends for 15 years before they began dating. When Linda proposed, she and her children lined their hallway with tea lights.

“And I don’t know I’ve ever experienced love to that extent,” Consweulo said.

‘If unconditional love was a person, it would be Linda’

Consweulo said Linda leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and encouraged others to follow her example.

“If unconditional love was a person, it would be Linda,” Consweulo said. “And if unconditional love means love without conditions, then let’s do that, let’s be that, that’s who Linda was.”

Consweulo also urged people to tell their loved ones what they mean to them and to hold their families close.

The Davis family has posted a GoFundMe to help cover service costs.
