Victory Drive bank robbery suspect charged in E. 40th St. home invasion

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah Police charged 37-year-old Eric J. Williams in connection with an October 23 home invasion in the 1400 block of E. 40th Street.

Police said officers responded at approximately 8:30 a.m. that morning to a report of a home invasion, armed robbery, and auto theft. No injuries were reported, according to Savannah Police.

Williams was charged with home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of false imprisonment, theft by taking firearm, theft by taking auto, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police criminally charged Williams on Oct. 28.

Police noted that Williams is currently in custody after his robbery of the E. Victory Dr. branch of Bank of America on Oct. 23., the same day as the home invasion.
