Tybee Island Marine Science Center to release sea turtle ‘Westie’
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - Looking for Saturday plans in September?
The Tybee Island Marine Science Center is getting ready to say goodbye to their resident loggerhead sea turtle Westie.
They said Westie is making her debut to the big blue on Saturday, September 6th at 9 a.m.
If you are interested in watching her release, you can join the marine center beachside at North Beach Crossover on Tybee Island.
Organizers say early arrival is a good idea and signs are encouraged!
Westie is set to be released into her natural environment on the outgoing tide.
