Two women arrested for breaking into vehicles in Hardeeville; both had unrelated active warrants
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (WTOC) - Two women have been arrested for breaking into vehicles in Hardeeville, according to the Hardeeville Police Department.
In a press release, the department states that on October 2, 2025, around 6:06 a.m., "officers with the Hardeeville Police Department responded to Ernest Street following a report of suspicious individuals attempting to enter vehicles."
When the police arrived, “officers located two female subjects matching the description provided.”
One of the suspects fled on foot and actively resisted officers during apprehension, the release states.
“Both suspects were positively identified, and officers recovered stolen property from multiple vehicle break-ins in their possession.”
The Hardeeville Police Department also confirmed both individuals had active arrest warrants for unrelated incidents.

The two women arrested were Alexis Iyana Mcherson (21) and Javara Arkwright (23), both of Hardeeville.
Mcherson was charged with with tampering with a motor vehicle, breaking into a motor vehicle, and financial transaction card theft.
Arkwright was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, breaking into a motor vehicle, obstruction, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, and providing false information to law enforcement.
Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center.
“This remains an active investigation,” the release states. “Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Hardeeville Police Department or Jasper County Dispatch.”
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
