Two suspects arrested in October murder of Statesboro father
STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - Two suspects have been arrested in the October shooting death of 30-year-old Deontre Mincey on Lanier Drive in Statesboro.
Timothy Odell Ward was arrested December 18 in Effingham County by U.S. Marshals and transported back to Bulloch County. Khalir Nickens turned himself in to the Bulloch County Jail on December 19, according to Statesboro Police.
Ward is charged with murder, three counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and also had various outstanding charges from unrelated incidents. Nickens is charged with murder and aggravated assault, and bond has not been set.
Multi-agency investigation leads to arrests

“This case was investigated and arrests made with the assistance of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, Screven County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Southern University Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service,” Statesboro Police said in a statement.
Police say Ward and Nickens are accused of shooting and killing Mincey, who was a father of four children.
Mincey’s family said they are devastated to spend Christmas without him and that he is missed every single day.
