BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating two separate shooting incidents that happened overnight in different parts of the county.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Monday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center got numerous calls reporting gunfire at the Vista View apartment complex on Haigler Boulevard in Bluffton.

Deputies say when they arrived they found property damage consistent with gunfire, but say no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.

Then, shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday deputies responded to another report of shots fired, this time from Shiney Road on St. Helena Island.

This shooting involved an injured teen. Deputies say they learned there was gunshot victim on the way to the hospital.

The victim was a 19-year-old male.

Law enforcement says the teen is in stable condition with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Three other individuals were inside the home at the time of the shooting and were not injured.

Both of these investigations are active.

Concerned neighbors speak out

WTOC spoke with neighbors, who say they’re concerned about the shootings happening in the county and want them to stop.

One of the residents we spoke with lost her son to gun violence in Virginia and hates that she moved to see people still resorting to guns in Beaufort County.

“You are taking another human being. You’re taking a mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, or child. Now the family is hurting because their loved one is gone and they’ll never see their loved one again,” said Beaufort County resident Janice Green.

Another person we spoke with says the shootings have been scary to see.

“I have been very concerned. I don’t want anybody getting hurt,” Beaufort County resident Lauren Saccomanno said.

Anyone with information about the incident in Bluffton is urged to contact Sgt. Cushman at 843-255-3722. For information related to the incident on St. Helena Island, please get in touch with Cpl. Petruzzi at 843-255-3267.

If wishing to remain anonymous, tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Beaufort County via the P3 Tips app on your mobile device, online at tipsbft.com, or by calling 844-TIPS-BFT (844-847-7238).

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is also still asking for information on a mass shooting on St. Helena that killed 4 and injured 20 others.
