SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -Two Savannah ministries are joining forces to expand services for people in need, marking a new chapter in community outreach.

Come As You Are Deliverance International Ministries has relocated to 1901 Pennsylvania Avenue in collaboration with First Assembly of God.

The ministry operates CAYA Ministries, which provides a day shelter during the week. CAYA stands for “come as you are.”

Pastor Frank Gray of First Assembly of God said the churches host community gatherings every third Saturday of each month.

“We’re reaching out to our community again with free meals, free advice, free counseling, and most of all, prayer,” Gray said. “We just want to help our community in times of need.”

The Saturday program offers free meals, a clothing closet and grocery items at no cost.

“The church is supposed to be doing this,” Gray said. “Not just providing services on Sunday, but actually reaching out to the community in meaningful ways.”

The churches accept food donations to support the ministry. Gray said anyone in need can come to the Saturday program for help.
