Train hits log truck in Estill, no injuries reported
ESTILL, SC. (WTOC) - South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a train hit a log truck Tuesday afternoon.
WTOC reached out to Estill Police Chief Chauncey Solomon Sr. for more information on this incident.
Chief Solomon said a log truck was crossing the railroad and stopped at the stop sign, but due to the heavy traffic in the area the trucker didn’t see the train. The train then hit the trailer part of the truck and tore up the tractor part of the truck, knocking the logs off.
This all happened at intersection of Highway 321 and Highway 3 North in Estill.
The police chief told us no one was hurt in this incident.
The incident impacted traffic in Estill for around two hours, now police are asking people use precaution while crossing train tracks especially tractor-trailers.
