EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Friday, September 19, Effingham County High School and South Effingham High School are set to compete in their yearly rival football game.

In a social media post, the Effingham County School District has outlined what attendees can expect from the event, along with some changes to procedure.

Here’s what you need to know:

Location and Parking for SEHS vs ECHS

The game will take place at South Effingham High Corral at 1220 Noel C Conaway Rd, in Guyton, GA, 31312.

The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and kickoff will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Similar to parking for graduation at South Effingham, overflow parking will be available at Marlow Elementary, with shuttle service beginning at 5:30 PM.

Handicapped Parking (with authorized permit) is available in marked spots and in the overflow area on the Practice Field.

In its post, the school district asks to “Please enter through the student parking lot and use the gravel road” for handicapped parking.

The school district also asks for drivers to plan their parking on how they plan to leave.

  • If you park next to the SEHS Gym/student lot, you MUST exit right onto Hwy 30 – no left turns.
  • If you park on the bus ramp between SEMS & SEHS, you MUST exit left onto Hwy 30 – no right turns.
  • If you need to travel on Nease Road, park at SEMS, exit left, then take Hester Road to Nease Road.

The SEHS & SEMS front circle gates will be closed, and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office will be directing traffic.

ECHS at SEHS Safety Guidelines

OpenGate weapon detectors will be in use and all guests must pass through them upon entry.

The district says attendees may keep phones, keys, and small items in their pockets while passing through the detectors.

Attendees should keep their hands at their sides as they enter. All individuals and belongings are subject to search.

The following items are prohibited to bring to the ECHS vs SEHS football game:
