Three men arrested for vehicle break-ins in Chatham County
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Chatham County Police have made three arrests after a string of 13 illegal vehicle entries in Savannah on Sept. 11.
According to a CCPD press release, the arrests were made within hours of the crimes being reported.
The first arrest was made Thursday night when CCPD detectives arrested 21-year-old Antonio James Griffin in connection with one of the 13 illegal entry instances near Johnny Mercer and Bryan Woods. Griffin faces the following charges:
- Felony possession of tools for commission of a crime
- Felony theft by receiving stolen property
- Misdemeanor possession of marijuana - less than one ounce
On Saturday, CCPD patrol officers arrested 38-year-old Robert Pete Skrine in connection with an illegal vehicle entry case outside a convenience store in Sandfly. Skrine faces charges including:
- Felony entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony
- Misdemeanor criminal trespass
CCPD officers took 31-year-old Raijon Lamar Ross into custody after a resident reported him rummaging through their vehicle on the 800 block of Quacco Road early Sunday morning. Ross is charged with the following:
- Felony entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft or felony
- Misdemeanor criminal trespass
Chatham County Police urge residents to remember that vehicles are not a place to store valuables - especially guns.
