Three displaced, four dogs rescued in Grays Hill fire
BURTON, S.C. (WTOC) - The Burton Fire District along with MCAS Fire and Emergency Services, Beaufort County EMS and Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported house fire in the Grays Hill community of Beaufort County Friday afternoon.
Just before 3 p.m., emergency crews responded to a reported house fire on Carolina Ave in Grays Hill.
Firefighters say they arrived to a single-story home with smoke coming from the home.
The crew quickly brought the fire under control confining damages to the kitchen area and rescuing four dogs in the process.
No injuries were reported but three adults were displaced. The Red Cross is assisting. Bruce K Smalls was briefly closed while fire crews operated.
Officials say cooking was the cause of the fire.
