The Hollywood Reporter ranks SCAD in top 15 for world’s best film schools
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Hollywood Reporter list of the world’s best film schools features one close to home after considering new facilities, equipment, endowments and alumni successes.
The Savannah College of Art and Design was ranked 12th in the world. USC in Los Angeles was number one, followed by New York University.
They write that SCAD leverages its film festival, now a stop on the awards circuit, into educational opportunities for students.
A-list celebrities stop by every year for the annual Film festival. More than a thousand students waited in line to get tickets last year.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “SCAD is forever expanding and will soon have more than 250,000 square feet dedicated to learning that includes two LED virtual production walls, a casting office and an 11-acre backlot. In 2026, SCAD will add two new soundstages to the mix, while other additions include an M.A. in cinematography and an M.A. in editing.”
