Teen charged with attempted murder after shooting into apartment with three minors on Lady’s Island

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WTOC) - Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an 18-year-old Burton man Tuesday evening in connection with a shooting into an occupied apartment on Lady’s Island.

Nyzahir Chin was charged with two counts of attempted murder, shooting into a dwelling, aggravated breach of peace, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said Chin shot into an occupied apartment in the area of Colony Gardens Road at Harbor One Apartments shortly after 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025.

Three people were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting, including a 7-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 17-year-old. No injuries were reported.

Officials say the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Northern Investigations unit arrested Chin on Tuesday evening, December 23, 2025.
