SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Education support is landing close to home in Chatham County.

Tanger Outlets Savannah has announced the local recipients of its 2025 TangerKids Grants, awarding funding to three Chatham County schools as part of its ongoing investment in student success.

The grants will support a library refresh at Woodville Tompkins High School, expanded music education at Charles Ellis Montessori Academy, and improved vision testing resources at Marshpoint Elementary School. Funded projects include Open Books, Open Minds; Developing Musicians; and Shine a Light on Children’s Sight, which will help purchase a new vision testing system for students.

The local awards are part of the broader TangerKids 2025 Grants program, distributing more than $200,000 across 176 grants at 37 Tanger shopping centers in the U.S. and Canada. Over nearly 30 years, Tanger has contributed more than $3.9 million to school focused initiatives nationwide.

Tanger Savannah Marketing Director Sunny Kurtz said the program focuses on listening to educators and supporting real classroom needs across the community.

Marshpoint Elementary also received an additional $1,000 after being selected as a TangerKids Shopper’s Choice winner through public voting.

Tanger Savannah will celebrate the recipients during TangerKids Day on Jan. 30 with individual check presentations to educators. The TangerKids Grants program is open to public and private schools from pre-K through 12th grade.
