Swainsboro woman killed years after surviving brutal beating, GBI investigating

SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said they are investigating the death of 34-year-old Amber Fields at the request of the Swainsboro Police Department.

A family member found the woman dead inside her home in Swainsboro after she didn’t report for work, according to the GBI.

This is being investigated as a homicide and the GBI says all leads are being followed at this time.

The investigation is her death is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Eastman at 478-374-6988. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
