Swainsboro murder suspect was a paroled convict, records show
SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We have new details about the man accused of killing a 34-year-old woman whose body was found in her Swainsboro home.
Authorities said early this week that Amber Nichole Fields was found inside her home in the 600 block of North Coleman Street Extension.
A family member found her inside the house after she didn’t report for work.
On Monday, Charles Justin Davis, 40, of Swainsboro, was arrested and charged with one felony count of malice murder for the death of Fields, according to investigators.
We’ve learned that he served time in prison and was on parole.

He was in prison for a primary offense of aggravated assault, with his sentence beginning May 18, 2022.
His parole began on May 6 this year and was set to last until May 17, 2028.
The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles said he had been serving six years and was eligible for parole by statute on May 18, 2024.
According to state law, parole-eligible offenders must be considered and are automatically considered by the board.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has taken the case at the request of the Swainsboro Police Department.
Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Middle Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
