Statesboro to Celebrate Arbor Day with Tree Planting, Giveaways and Family Activities
STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - Trees, community and hands-on fun will take center stage this weekend as Statesboro celebrates Arbor Day with a morning of planting, giveaways and family-friendly activities at Marvin Avenue Park.
The City of Statesboro Tree Board will host its Arbor Day Celebration and tree planting Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at 399 Marvin Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
The celebration will feature hands-on activities, educational demonstrations, native plant sales, a tree giveaway and raffle, along with a nonperishable food and pet food drive benefiting the Statesboro Food Bank and the Humane Society of Statesboro and Bulloch County.
Each donated item counts as one raffle entry, and participants must be present to win and choose their tree. Raffle trees have been donated by Southern Scapes Nursery, Inc. and Wise Nurseries.
Organizers say the event highlights the importance of trees and the role they play in building strong, connected communities.
