Stabbing in Savannah leads to injury, arrest off West Gateway
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - One person has received non-life threatening injuries after a stabbing in the 0 block of West Gateway this morning, according to the Chatham County Police Department.
Around 8:00 a.m. today, Chatham County Police Department officers were dispatched to the 0 block of West Gateway Boulevard for a report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found the adult male victim suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Detectives from the CCPD were called to the scene and quickly identified a suspect, who was taken into custody.
Detectives have charged Tyres Key (23) with aggravated assault in connection with this incident.
Key is now being held in the Chatham County Detention Center.
According to the police, detectives say this was an incident between two people who knew each other and was not a random event.
