Snowfall hits Hardeeville drawing visitors from across the south
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Hardeeville is experiencing a rare winter event, with at least 2 inches of snow reported in the area.
Early in the evening, crews on the ground noticed little accumulation, but as the night progressed, snow began to settle across the town.
Visitors traveled from as far away as Tampa, Florida, and Texas just to witness the snowfall. Among them was Stephanie Emanuelli, who was seeing snow for the first time.
“I’ve been talking about it ever since we went to Texas. Once we left Texas, it started snowing, and I was like, ‘Geez, we miss everything. We miss all the snow,’” Emanuelli said. “But this time, you didn’t miss it, and you get to tell all your friends about it. ‘Yesss!’”
Local law enforcement is urging residents and visitors to stay off the roads.
For those who must drive, authorities advise exercising caution and driving slowly due to potentially hazardous conditions.
