Sea Pines celebrating America’s 250th with eagle flyover, fireworks
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, Sc. (WTOC) - Sea Pines Resort is gearing up for an all-day Fourth of July celebration on Hilton Head Island, complete with patriotic festivities, live entertainment and a bald eagle flyover to honor America’s 250th anniversary.
The celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the annual Fourth of July Parade around Harbour Town, led this year by Woody the Clydesdale from Lawton Stables. Guests are encouraged to decorate bikes, wagons, strollers and dogs in red, white and blue before heading to the Harbour Town lawn for carnival games and family activities.
The evening will feature the Gregg Russell Fourth of July Concert beneath the Liberty Oak Tree at 8 p.m., followed by a bald eagle flyover at 8:15 p.m. Lincoln, a nationally recognized bald eagle ambassador with the American Eagle Foundation, will launch from the top of the Harbour Town Lighthouse and soar toward Harbour Town Golf Links. The celebration wraps up with fireworks at 9 p.m. over the Harbour Town Lighthouse and Calibogue Sound.
Sea Pines officials said events are open to both resort guests and the public.
Public parking will be available from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. in designated lots along Greenwood Drive. Complimentary shuttle service will transport guests to and from Harbour Town Yacht Club.
Additional events throughout the week include Donuts with Benjamin Franklin, Patriotic Sidewalk Chalk and The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra Concert.
