SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah’s east side is set to welcome the city’s first-ever Sprouts Farmers Market at Crossroads Shopping Center.

Atlanta-based The Ardent Companies announced Thursday that Sprouts has signed a lease at the 92,000-square-foot shopping center located along East Victory Drive and Truman Parkway.

The grocery store will take over the former Savannah Children’s Theatre space as part of a larger redevelopment project planned for the center.

According to Ardent, Sprouts is expected to open in 2027. The project includes repositioning nearly 28,000 square feet of retail space to make room for the grocery store and an additional retail suite, along with exterior renovations throughout the property.

Demolition is expected to begin this summer.

“This is a well-located retail asset in one of the Southeast’s fastest-growing markets,” said Scott Werbel, partner at Ardent. “The addition of Sprouts brings a high-quality grocery anchor to the center that aligns with the retail needs of the surrounding area.”

Crossroads Shopping Center sits along two major Savannah corridors, East Victory Drive and Truman Parkway. Company leaders say the east side location and growing demand for grocery-anchored retail made the project an attractive investment.

Savannah’s continued growth has been fueled by major economic drivers including Savannah College of Art and Design, the Port of Savannah, manufacturing and the entertainment industry.

Ardent says the redevelopment adds to its expanding portfolio of mixed-use and retail projects across the Southeast.
