Savannah Police confirms shooting near Ogeechee Rd.

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 7:11 p.m. 11/1/25] The Savannah Police Department confirmed there was a shooting in the area near the westbound lanes of Ogeechee Road, right before 516 next to Corvair Avenue.

Savannah Police said one person was hurt in Saturday night’s incident, but not by a bullet.

[ORIGINAL STORY] WTOC is currently out at the scene where there is a large police presence near Chevy Chase Road.

Our crews on the scene counted six Savannah police cars and one Georgia State Patrol car. While on the scene, our team said they saw police searching a nearby empty lot with flashlights.
