Savannah Juneteenth festival invites youth to design official 2026 T-shirt

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival, produced by Chosen For The Arts, is launching its 2026 Youth T-shirt Design Contest, giving local students a chance to showcase their creativity while celebrating culture and history.

The contest is open to students ages 7 to 12 and is part of the festival’s STEAM Advancement Program, which encourages young artists to express themes of freedom, unity, and cultural pride through original artwork.

Submissions will be accepted from May 4 through May 18, 2026.

The winning design will become the official 2026 Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival T-shirt, with the selected student receiving a $250 scholarship, recognition during the Jubilee Sky of Freedom, and a professional photo shoot. Their artwork will also be featured across Savannah in public spaces, including a one-day digital billboard display, and promoted through festival platforms.

Organizers say the contest not only highlights young talent but also supports future artists. A portion of T-shirt sales will benefit the Chosen For The Arts Legacy Scholarship Fund.
